MPs take home nearly TEN TIMES what Disabled people get on Universal Credit... Yet, they claim WE are the ones draining the Taxpayer purse & "disincentivised" to work because we get £850 per month...!
So… Sir Knobend Starmer and his cronies are apparently so entrenched in their Ableist Landfill of Lies, they believe that having an “extra £400 per month” in Universal Credit makes ALL Disabled People “inherently lazy” and “incentivises” us to “Not Work”.
Well. THAT’s RICH coming from people who got a RAISE — “From 1 April 2025, the annual salary of a Member of Parliament increased by 2.8%, to £93,094” [that’s directly from the IPSA website, who decide on these things] — PLUS Expenses, naturally … Approx. just over £2500 PER PERSON: That’s effectively £100K PER PERSON, PER YEAR…!
They’re basically saying that, because Disabled People get an “extra” £400pm — taking their Universal Credit TOTAL to about £850pm… I’m being “Paid” TOO MUCH to “want to look for work”. Who the HELL can LIVE on £850 Per MONTH — let alone LESS?
I made That Much as a salaried HCA in a London Hospital AND then as a Retail Assistant on Whitehall **22 YEARS AGO**.
…And if there’s ANY Set Of People DON’T WORK for Taxpayer Money — it’s THAT LOT.
So, seriously — HOW Much would the country SAVE if MPs got what a GENERIC “higher-end” salary was? Like… say £60K...?
(in comparison, a GP Salary is £74-79K throughout the UK, and they obviously HIGHLY Trained over decades - it takes around 12 YEARS just to Qualify, then you need more years of experience after that… ALL an MP has to do is just win a Popularity Contest and go to London about once a year…)

Incidentally, a general NHS Registered Nurse is salaried at an average of £35,000 — Imagine being able to pay 650 EXRA Nurses at NO Extra Cost WITH Change Leftover??!

…Apparently the taxpayer pays a total of £60,511,100 to MPs PER YEAR; NOT including the Prime Minister’s Salary of £164,591..?!

Then wonder WHY they’re attacking & Vilifying Vulnerable & DISABLED people for NEEDING just £400 extra per month each [making their Universal Credit TOTAL around £850 PER MONTH]… When THEY get (approx.) £7,757.83 PER MONTH, EACH.
I’d laugh SO HARD at their Abject, Prejudiced, Sick-Irony-Laden, Debasing Stupidity if I could manage such a thing anymore. They just somehow have NO IDEA that the BIGGEST PROBLEM with MAJOR Outgoings… IS THEM.

I wonder how £400 per month is supposedly making me so “Work-Averse”, when I’ve got MORE Than Enough to keep me UTTERLY DEBILITATED instead — like having NO control over my own body, double-incontinence, physical AND neuropathic pain, paralysis, Functional Seizure BlackOuts, dysphagia, aphasia, debilitating Chronic Fatigue, Meltdowns from all the abo— Oh, no… WAIT!

HOW am I supposed to “Work” when I can’t even get out of bed; certainly not leave my room? When I have to choose between: remaining vaguely lucid & managing to do… something small for myself VERSES changing my incontinence pants & subsequently [from the pain, effort & exhaustion of it] BLACKING OUT for the Rest Of The Day, and possibly wrecking my “sleep” AND TOMORROW in the process as well…
How could I Work when I literally can BLACK OUT at the DROP OF A HAT for up to TWO HOURS [and Very Rarely, even more], SEVERAL Times Per Day, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY…?
How could I Work when severe “Brain Fog”, pain, and Dysautonomia leave me entirely unfocused, lost, without memory of… anything… So, even the shortest article or blog or letter can take WEEKS to complete, or the simplest of lists never get completed (or even started)?
How can I Work, when I can’t even shower or brush my hair, can’t eat or drink very much [or at all], can’t get dressed, can’t tolerate speaking with people, or ANY Sounds? Some days I can’t even MOVE, At All…
How can I Work… When I’ve spent the past WEEKS Struggling with The Most BASIC of Human Things, like being Doubly Incontinent, like trying to remain conscious and lucid because of Constantly Worsening Functional Seizures, like coping with mounting & changing Neuropathic Pain & worsening Tremors, or like getting weaker with EVEN MORE Chronic Fatigue?
Sod going to WORK, I can’t even leave my room — let alone get to my bathroom, control my own body, eat any food, get myself dressed, REMAIN CONSCIOUS, or wash my anything.
AND THAT’S JUST **MY** STORY… There are THOUSANDS OF OTHER ONES… And NOT ONE will be about “Work Avoidance” and “living it up on the State”…

The Labour Party is out-stripping the Conservatives in this massively. Plus, you at least expect it from the Tories.
